Tea at the Deli
On the Sands Deli and Cafe, located in the pretty village of Long Clawson near Melton Mowbray Leicestershire, is a must for any discerning tea drinker and anyone who appreciates good food made well. As well as the deli shop for lots of delicious goodies to take home, there are tables and chairs to sit and relax. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable; you’re never rushed with newspapers and magazines encouraging you to linger. A range of loose leaf teas will delight anyone with a love of tea – the Darjeeling Margaret’s Hope is superb and a favourite for our researcher, Margaret Thornby, who says:
“This is a truly superb place for tea. As anyone who knows me will be aware, I am a strong proponant of ‘proper’ loose leaf tea and The Deli not only serves loose tea but knows how to make it well. The food here is excellent, from simple snacks to full meals and, of course, Afternoon Tea later in the day. Much of the food is sourced locally, a committment I value highly myself. It is good to see how businesses can support each other in this way and enhance what each does well. I would thoroughly recommend a visit – it is a place I found by chance and was happy to add to my list of excellent ‘tea rooms’ in Britain.”
